Martin Heap: cavaquinho
Alexander Kraglund: violin
Bjarke Mulders: guitar
Marquinho da Dona Geralda: pandeiro

The group is lead by Martin Heap, for many years devoted the the genre, having lived and played in Rio de Janeiro extensively. Has performed and recorded with significant choro musicians such as Mauricio Carrilho, Oscar Bolão and Carlos Malta.

Representing Brazil is Marquinho da Dona Geralda, Mestre de Bateria, from Rio de Janeiro. Marquinho has been based in Europe for a decade, where he has passed on the great subtle swing of the Brazilian music on to audiences and samba schools around the continent.

In Brazil the choro music is played by small ensembles at the so-called Rodas de Choro (Roda means circle) in a circle where the audience and the musicians unite in a mutual joy of playing and listening; an event which takes place in venues, bars, cafés, and in the street -in fact where ever there's room for cheerfulness and spontaneity.

Choro Vivo invites the audience to a Roda de Choro and gives them the opportunity to feel the hot rays of sun and sand between their toes -an opportunity to give themselves up to a musical experience of joy and creativity.
